WHAT IS THE TEAM LIKE?
Team of Rural generalists – pretty easy-going group who look after each other but work hard.
Generally, 5-6 doctors rostered in ED in the 24 hour period with an additional first and second on-call overnight and one SMO rostered in the ward – 8 am – 6.30 pm.
TELL US ABOUT THE SETUP OF THE HOSPITAL AND SUPPORT FOR A LOCUM DOCTOR AT CAPRICORN COAST HOSPITAL?
22-bed in-patient ward, 8 ED beds – including resus and isolation and 2 short-stay beds.
2 procedure rooms and a plaster room.
Nurse practitioner clinic 7 am – 5.30 pm to assess Cat 4&5.
Radiology – 8 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday.
WHAT DOES THE TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION LOOK LIKE FOR A LOCUM EMERGENCY DOCTOR IN YEPPOON?
Accommodation is approximately a 7-minute drive to the hospital so your own vehicle is preferred.
PHOs do not get a vehicle allowance but SMOs do.
Check in to beachfront accommodation after 2 pm.
ANY LOCAL’S INSIDE INFORMATION TO SHARE? BEST SWIMMING SPOTS? LOOKOUTS? BIKE OR WALK TRAILS?
Beautiful beaches and islands to explore. Beachfront lagoon.
